I can't imagine carrying more than a book or two when I travel. I don't care who wrote it, what it's about, or whether the ending is happy or not.
Seriously.
Between luggage, my VAIO, cell phone, and work-related paperwork, the last thing I need to be weighed down. Thankfully, it's Reader to the rescue
Two new Sony Readers-- the Reader Pocket Edition and the Reader Touch Edition retailing for $199 and $299, respectively, will be available at the end of August.
The Reader Pocket Edition is like a mini library with a 5-inch electronic display that can store up to 350 books and fits in your pocket. Battery life is two weeks on a single charge. And for those who want to make a fashion statement, the model comes in navy blue, rose and silver. And at $199 this is the lowest priced digital e-book.
Reader Touch Edition improves on our popular touch screen model. By simply swiping the 6-inch screen with your finger or using the stylus you can turn a page, highlight or take notes. Need to know the meaning of a word? Just tap on it and the definition pops up. This one comes in the more traditional red, black or silver.
Books can be purchased at our ebook store which also features 1 million public domain books from Google. Or you can even borrow eBooks from your local library online. Like print books from your library, these expire in about three weeks but there are no late fees!
And for those of you wondering about wireless, here's two important words: It's coming. So please stay tuned.
